DPS Sergeant Woodard is Men’s Prayer Breakfast speaker at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church



Sergeant Stephen Woodard is the featured speaker for the Men’s Prayer Breakfast at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church on December 17 at 8:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall of the Church on 204 Dooley Street.

Trooper Woodard is currently the Safety Education and Media Trooper for the Department of Public Service Region 2A, a position he has held since March 2013.   The area consists of Harris, Brazoria, Chambers, and Galveston County. As a Safety Education Trooper, he is responsible for promoting safety education programs for the DPS in forums, meetings, as well as, appearing on television and radio.  Trooper Woodard is also the spokesman for the Department.

Sergeant Woodard has been in Law Enforcement for more than 16 years. Upon graduating from the Texas State Trooper’s Academy in Austin, Texas, he was assigned to the Texas Highway Patrol Division in Manvel, Texas. While stationed there he enforced the State’s traffic and criminal laws. He also investigated motor vehicle crashes ranging from minor property damages to fatalities with in Brazoria County.

Trooper Woodard was stationed in Chambers County for a brief duration, where he fined tuned his criminal interdiction skills. While station in Harris County, Trooper Woodard lead the Katy Highway Patrol Office in DWI Enforcement and Criminal Arrest.

Trooper Woodard has been recognized several times throughout his career for his efforts in keeping Texas Roadways safe from Criminal Activity and Traffic Violations.

Prior to joining the Texas Department of Public Safety, Trooper Woodard served 10 faithful years in the United States Military where he received numerous awards and citations for his faithful duty and dedication to his Country.

Woodard’s biggest award and achievement is his wife, who is a Houston Police Department Investigator, his 10 years old son, an inspiring football player, his 4 year old daughter who is now playing the piano, and his 3 year old son who hasn’t quite chosen a career field yet.
