Mayor Wolfe is Men's Prayer Breakfast speaker at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church



Reverend Michael S. Wolfe, Sr. is the speaker for the Men's Prayer Breakfast at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church set for Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall of the church at 204 Dooley Street, Prairie View.

The free breakfast is open to the men of the community, who are asked to confirm their attendance at 936-857-3272 or email: stfrancispv@sbcglobal.net.

Wolfe is a native of Hempstead, Texas where he was reared and graduated from Hempstead High School. 

Wolfe was elected as Mayor for the City of Hempstead in 2004.  He was first elected to the Hempstead City Council in 2000 and served on several committees and commissions.  Prior to his political career, Wolfe taught in the North Forest ISD for thirteen years.  He is also the Pastor Bethlehem Baptist Church in Roans Prairie, Texas, a position he has held for 27 Years.

Mayor Wolfe is committed to improving the quality of life for the citizens of Hempstead and the county and is credited with attracting new business and being a staunch supporter of the protest against a landfill in the vicinity of Hempstead.  Wolfe is dedicated to making Hempstead the best city anyone would be proud to call home.

Wolfe holds the B.A. in Political Science and the M.A. in Counseling degrees, Prairie View A&M University.  He also holds the B.Th. and the M.Th. degrees from Mt. Zion Bible Institute in Houston and the further studies at the College of Biblical Studies in Houston.

In addition to his position as Mayor, he finds time to engage in other civic and community activities to include serving as a member of the Hempstead Chamber of Commerce, Adult Softball League of Hempstead and the National Teachers Association.  He also holds membership with the Texas & National Conference of Mayors, Texas Municipal League, Texas Teachers Retirement System, Texas Association of Black City Council Members, Texas Gas Association, and African American Mayor’s Association.  Additionally he serves as chaplain for the Epsilon Tau Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Mayor Wolfe is married to Deborah and they have two children – Demeatra and Michael S. Jr., and six grandchildren – Raeunna, Darrian, Sarai, Shequeria, RJ and Aaliya.
